Amazing Skull Rock
Skull Rock, California
Located in Southern California, Joshua Tree National Park is a beautiful
area that has thousands of acres of barren desert with many different
plant life and rock formations dotting its bleak landscape. For the rock
climber, hiker or adventurer it holds miles of hiking trials and
vertical rock walls to scale with days of adventure to fill up your
time.
This rock started forming long ago as depressions in the granite filled
with rainwater, leading to erosion. As time passed, the two eyes formed
and it started resembling a skull, the National Parks Service says.
These days, the skull is the starting point for a 1.7-mile nature trail
through the park, where the Mojave and the Colorado deserts meet in
southern California.
